Test & Results
Blood test and urine results
Blood test and urine results usually take at least two to three working days to come back from the laboratory. The doctor requesting the test should inform you whether to make a further appointment or whether you need to telephone the surgery for the result. The result will have been read by the doctor and instructions given to the nurse or receptionist as to what action is required. The receptionist will only be able to inform you of the result and is not qualified to discuss the result with you. The surgery will only contact you with a result if there is a problem.
In order to maintain confidentiality, ALL results are given to the patient personally or to parent if the patient is under 16.
Please contact the surgery in the afternoon to obtain a result as this is when the telephones are less busy.
Cervical smear results
All patients are informed of their cervical smear results by letter
